3. Propagation: Paradise Hotel (PCVR, Quest, PSVR 2)
Rating on Pico store with # of reviews | 4.5 (139 Ratings) |
Release Date | May 4, 2023 |
Genre | Action, Adventure, Horror |
Time to beat main story | 3-4 Hours |
Replayability | Low |
Coming in at number 3, we have a very spooky game called Propagation: Paradise Hotel. It’s available on Quest, PCVR, and PSV2. This game is rated R18, and to be honest, we don’t think we’ll be ready to play anything this scary again until we’re at least 40!
You find yourself stuck in a creepy hotel, looking for your lost sister. All the typical horror stuff happens – the power is out, you need a key, and to find the key, you need to find some guy named David, but to find David, you need a chain cutter.
You spend a lot of time in the dark.
This is a great little self-contained story with about 3-4 hours of absolute terror. It may have received some slack for being a bit short, but not every game needs to be a 20-hour investment. Every now and then, a nice little single-player story is good – and hopefully, we can move on and stop having nightmares!
If you like survival horror games, we would definitely recommend giving this one a try.
2. Rampage VR (Pico)

Rating on Pico store with # of reviews | 5/5 (4 reviews) |
Release Date | 18th May 2023 |
Genre | Shooting, Adventure |
Time to beat main story | 4-8 Hours |
Replayability | Extremely High |
Next up, we have a Pico exclusive called Rampage VR. Think of it as Borderlands in VR! There are 35 amazing weapons, four different champs with unique abilities, boss fights, cool loot and upgrades, and a fully fleshed-out talent system. Plus, it has multiplayer and seasonal rewards! The initial audience score looks very positive, although with the Pico store, there aren’t a huge amount of reviews.
This game could go two ways. The fact that they have seasonal rewards and a talent system with power progression adds to the replayability. However, the main drawback is that not many people know about it yet, and because it’s a paid exclusive game on the Pico, finding other players with the matchmaking system can be a bit of a challenge. We hope this game gets extended to other platforms so the player base can increase.
Our recommendation? If you have friends to play with, it’s definitely a buy. Otherwise, add it to your wishlist and see how the player base increases when season one launches.
1. Crimen: Mercenary Tales (Quest, Pico)
Rating on Oculus store with # of reviews | 4.7/5 (56 Ratings) |
Release Date | May 25, 2023 |
Genre | Action, Adventure |
Time to beat main story | 6 Hours |
Replayability | Medium |
Are you looking for a VR game that is both hilarious and challenging? Look no further than Crimen! Released on the Quest and Pico standalone headsets, this game is the ultimate package. From the reviews and trailer, it was evident that we would be in for a good laugh, but we were pleasantly surprised by the swordplay.
The gameplay centers around parrying and counter-attacking, which feels absolutely fantastic! The 8 different levels serve up new challenges as the enemies get smarter and sneakier. You get to swipe through a variety of weapons like swords and guns as you progress, making it a physically intense encounter, especially for those into VR fitness.
The comedy element of the game is well-done, with unexpected twists and turns in the story. We must admit, Crimen exceeded our expectations, and it’s the only VR game I can confidently recommend as a big fat buy!
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your VR headset, and step into the world of Crimen. Happy gaming!
